It's All About Hockey!

What did we get ourselves into having a "Canadian" Dad??? We got ourselves involved in Hockey!... That's what we did!

Brody and Karson started their first season of Salt Lake County League Hockey in October 2010-March 2011... It's been a lot of going to practices, watching the kids skate, loading the car, washing uniforms, driving in the car, taping sticks, packing snacks, watching games, freezing our bums, clapping hard, shouting cheers, and celebrating GOALS! It's been a lot of fun and the kids have enjoyed it too. They have improved and had a great experience... and here's to many more years to come (pretty sure... :)

Birthday - First Day of School - Birthday - Birthday - Birthday!

July and August are usually busy months! 2010 was no different!

Brody's birthday theme this year was SOCCER! We played a soccer game, had soccer cupcakes, and broke open a soccer pinata! He also went golfing with dad and received roller blades to help fine tune his skating!

Then we had the first day of school for everyone:

Dad had his 37th birthday!

Karson turned 9 this year and celebrated with a Slip N Slide party!

Mom had her 34th birthday (am I really that age?)

It was a great birthday... my friends and the help of Brad and Ashlee threw a suprise bbq party with all my great friends and thier families... I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend my birthday!!!

Baptism Day!

Karson turned 8 on Friday, August 21... was baptized Saturday, August 22... and attended the Oquirrh Mountain Temple dedication on Sunday, August 23... a busy, memorable weekend for Karson!

Karson was very excited to be getting baptized... she prepared (met the requirements, knew the commitment she was making, met with the Bishop, met with the Primary, found a dress and shoes, took pictures, invited family to come, asked her aunts, grandpa, and uncles to be part of the program...) She was ready!!!

And then... she woke up Saturday morning sick! really sick! throwing up sick!... but she wanted to get baptized... She was "sick" in the car on the way there, she was "sick" during the program, and she was "sick" after... but she is now a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!

We are really pleased with Karson's decision to get baptized. Karson is a special daughter and we admire her and love her a lot. She is a great example to her brothers and sister. We want her to know her family loves her.

Lost Teeth!

Karson finally lost her first tooth on May 15, 2008! She was suprised and very giddy about it. It was starting to "bother" her that she was the only one in her class that had not lost a tooth. (Mom had to remind her that her teeth came in really late (first tooth at 14 months), so she'll probably be late to lose them.) But finally it happened on her last off track time of First Grade.

Soccer Star!

Karson is our soccer star! This is her second season playing and really improved from last time. She is quick, aggressive, and smart! She is learning the "game" quickly and it helps when dad can do a little one on one coaching!
