More Crazy Things Our Kids Do!

Here are Obi Wan Kanobi and Princess Leah...defeating "Darth Vader!"

Here's our Brody once again... doing "something" with clothes that will probably end up in the laundry even if they are not dirty...ahh!!

Brody use to do this all the time... find the oddest places to fall asleep!

Brody being a little silly on the Snow Racers with his friend Connor.

Of course you couldn't have a family journal with out an entry about a child with "underwear" on their head!! We are so proud of you Benny! :) :)

The Crazy Things Our Kids Do!

Mom can't really remember if there was a "purpose" to this activity, but those are SHIRTS on the boys' legs!

The boys probably started out "swimming" in the living room with all the pillows. Then it progressed into adding clothing to their heads and sliding into the "water."

This is Brody's "Indiana Jones" costume... although he had never seen it at this time... the green shirt is his "Indiana bag" and he had to have the black stick stuck in his waist band to hold the "Indiana bag." And he had to have a "button up" shirt to be an "Indiana jacket." Really, who knows how he comes up with this stuff?

The boys are practicing their Karate! Kicking and karate chopping the water!

Benny was in this swing for aproximately 2.2 minutes before he fell asleep. He's tired probably from having to keep up with Brody and all his "craziness" all the time!

Brody's Baseball Trophy

Brody is very proud to have his very own baseball trophy. He keeps it by his bed and now talks about wanting to play T-ball again (perhaps he wants another trophy :). Bennett probably wants one too. Anything Brody does Benny does it too!

Lost Teeth!

Karson finally lost her first tooth on May 15, 2008! She was suprised and very giddy about it. It was starting to "bother" her that she was the only one in her class that had not lost a tooth. (Mom had to remind her that her teeth came in really late (first tooth at 14 months), so she'll probably be late to lose them.) But finally it happened on her last off track time of First Grade.
Showing off the her tooth and hopeful money maker! And Brody looking on in awe!
Sharing her good news with Grandma!
Karson lost her 2nd tooth on June 12, 2008.

Oregon over the 4th!

We headed to Oregon on Tuesday July 1, 2008 for a family trip to Oregon and to celebrate Independence Day with Grandma and Grandpa. We also were going to go to G and Gs to help with some "around the place" projects. It was exciting to think we would be going to Oregon when it would be nice weather... (we hoped)... so the kids could play and explore outdoors. The trees, dirt, and adventures could be endless. Brody was also looking forward to being a "cowboy!"
First on the agenda... at least for the kids... go to the barn to feed the cows and drive the "mule".

The Boys reaquainted themselves with Les and Schwab and met "Harvey Steamer" for the first time. This was Karson's first time meeting the cows.

Karson became quite the mule driver...that's all she wanted to do!

We also visited Great Grandpa's house and took a few pictures for memorbilla too.

First project on Grandpa's list for Brad to help with: "Yarding" a "few" trees Grandpa had already "fell" (I believe that is the correct logging language).

Besides the mule, Karson also fell in love with her pink cowboy boots! Bennett liked his too.

The kids also like the swings and were introduced to "under doggies." G and G informed the kids that mom and her sisters would make up "routines" and "make" them come and watch. Mom does remember that. We were big into routines...swing, water, dance, gymnastics to Huey Lewis... (a tangent walk down memory lane :).

Next on the agenda... a hot dog roast and smore making around the fire pit.

Brody and Bennett also took a ride on some 4 wheelers. Benny's helmet weighed more than his little neck could handle...he was "Bobble head Benny" riding.

2nd Project for Grandpa and Dad: Replacing the rocks that washed down off of the "drive-over" part of the creek. Or how Grandpa calls it, "Throwing rocks in the crick"

CELEBRATING JULY 4TH

We attended the Molalla Buckaroo Parade. And of course the boys had to have their cowboy hats for the occassion.

This was the kids' first experience retrieving candy from a parade... They thought it was great, even if it was only a few pieces. Grandpa thought it would be great spot, but Grandma wondered if the candy would be all gone. Fortunately for Grandpa, the kids didn't know any different. :)

We then went to Shady Dell Railroad... It's a miniature train for everyone to ride on. They also have a picnic area. Bennett was especially in the picture taking mood!

Musical Rooms

A Monday...late June 2008-

We decided it was time to move Benny out of the crib (he was struggling going to sleep anyway)!
We moved Brody to the top Bunk... Benny got the bottom bunk in the yellow room... And then moved Karson into Benny's room (or what was always the "baby's room")! Mom was a little sad taking the crib down, but we did it anyway. Karson now has PINK in her room and loves going in there, shutting the door, and playing with her Polly Pockets, cars, or reading a book on her bed. She is in heaven. And the boys now have their car pictures on the wall and their sports stuff, but most important, no "frilly valance" over the window. Sleeping now has been fine. Although mom and dad get a "visitor" every once in a while :).
