Canada Trip July 2012

We are off on our Canada Trip! We left Utah on Wednesday, July 4th at 7:00am. We were up early and left our house at 5:30am. The kids were not tired only EXCITED!

Day 1 (Thursday) in Canada... We actually went back across the border to Grand Ferry Island, NY and spent the day at Fantasy Island with all our Aunts and Uncles and Cousins.

Kourtney spent the beginning of her day going on a lot of fun rides with her two cousins closest in age to her... Shorleigh and Morgan. The three of them had some great laughs and fun times...

While the others went on rides like the Silver Comet wooden roller coaster, Bumper cars, Crazy Mouse, Tilt a Whirl, and driving an old fashion car. We also went on the Log Flume Ride, the Ferris Wheel, The Crazy Bus, and can't forget the fun we had at the Water Park.

We were all exhausted from the full day of fun!



Summer 2011 in review....

Hopefully the kids weren't thinking they had a "boring" summer with "nothing" to do! I know we had A LOT of things to do!!!

Brody and Baseball

Brody played his first year of Herriman Baseball... He was on the Orioles.



He enjoyed it and was successful... He learned lots from his coach and was also able to play with a neighbor friend too. As a family we got to go to a lot of practices and games...and we saw a lot of good hits, a lot of good catches, and a lot of slides...



Brody also was selected to be on an All Star team... and received another uniform for the weekend tournament...oh great more clothes for Brody to "dress-up" in multiple times a day and of course rarely put them away after :)

Summer Happenings...

Our neighborhood's 1st Annual Chalk Festivals and awards...

We have a really cool and fun neighbor friend that comes up with the best ideas! She invited everyone to participate, had a frozen treat and awards for everyone... The Barker kids received: The Best Detail Award!

We also went to Copperton Park to play tennis, scooter, play baseball, play on the playground, eat lunch, make homemade icecream in a bag and be with friends.

So far this summer we have had swimming lessons, baseball tournament, piano recital, Splash park, trip to Oregon, and of course endless hours playing with friends!

A Summer Happening... The Zoo!

To kick off our 2011 Summer...

We went to the Hogle Zoo.
We went with our friends the Millers. We had lots of fun and saw lots of animals... of course!

It's All About Hockey!

What did we get ourselves into having a "Canadian" Dad??? We got ourselves involved in Hockey!... That's what we did!

Brody and Karson started their first season of Salt Lake County League Hockey in October 2010-March 2011... It's been a lot of going to practices, watching the kids skate, loading the car, washing uniforms, driving in the car, taping sticks, packing snacks, watching games, freezing our bums, clapping hard, shouting cheers, and celebrating GOALS! It's been a lot of fun and the kids have enjoyed it too. They have improved and had a great experience... and here's to many more years to come (pretty sure... :)

End of Summer Happenings!

Here are a few of the things we did to finish up the 2010 Summer:

Lemonade and Cookie Stand...

With our friends, we made yummy lemonade, rice krispie treats, and cookies to sell! And thanks to our neighbors big shade tree, we were able to have a lucrative spot on the corner.

Trip to Farm Country

It was a HOT day! But it didn't matter... The kids donned their boots, hats, and cowboy shirts! We had lunch, viewed animals, played in a little jail and dance parlor and the hightlight was a HORSE RIDE!!! and finished up with a refreshing ICE CREAM!
